Notes on this conversion
HEIC has been the iPhone's default image format since iOS 11. At equal quality it is about half the size of a JPEG, but Windows, older Android versions and many upload forms cannot open it. Converting to JPEG restores compatibility. The file grows, and one re-encode costs a small amount of quality. A Live Photo keeps only its still frame, and depth and HDR maps are removed. Camera metadata is not carried across, so keep the original as the archive copy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I open HEIC files on my computer?
HEIC is Apple's default photo format for iPhones. Windows and many web services don't natively support it. Converting to JPG makes your photos universally compatible.
Will converting HEIC to JPG reduce image quality?
JPG uses lossy compression, so there's minimal quality reduction. For most uses (sharing, printing, uploading), the difference is imperceptible.
Can I batch convert multiple HEIC photos?
Batch conversion is available on paid plans: upload multiple HEIC files at once, convert them all to JPG, and download the results as a ZIP.
