- 3
Download the .md file.
Notes on this conversion
HTML and Markdown describe the same kinds of thing — headings, lists, tables, links, emphasis — so this is the conversion with the least to lose. Those elements carry across directly. What does not survive is everything that is presentation or behaviour: stylesheets, scripts, and layout built out of nested containers, none of which Markdown can express. A page whose structure exists only in CSS will arrive as a flat sequence of paragraphs, because there was no structural markup to read.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are links and their text preserved?
Yes. Anchors become Markdown links with their text and destination intact.
Why did my page come out flat?
Because its structure was in the styling rather than the markup. Only real elements — headings, lists, tables — can be read as structure.
What happens to scripts and styles?
They are dropped. Markdown has no way to express either, and carrying markup through would let a converted file emit live HTML.
